SECRETLY BEYOND
One filament, invisible but for a maverick ray,
seen only from a precise place, an acute angle.
A glint of a line in the air. What spider
wove from Japanese Maple
to brown ground in Ohio, up up
and away to crabapple blush,
and into the skies?
Her graced canopy wanders
west to east, dirt to heaven,
secretly beyond the spectrum
and outside comprehension
but for an improbable glimpse
from an accidental twist of my head
and a sight of light
from the sun.
