SECRETLY BEYOND
One filament, invisible
but for a maverick ray, seen only
from a precise place, an acute angle.
A glint of a line in the air.
What spider wove
from brown ground in Ohio,
to Japanese Maple, up up
and away to crabapple blush,
then into the skies?
Her canopy wanders west to east,
dirt to heaven, secretly
beyond the spectrum
and outside comprehension
but for an improbable glimpse
from an accidental twist of my head
and a sight of light from the sun.
